| Plot |
| It is the near future and at a high-tech theme park called Delos, robots are programmed to meet any human need or desire in entertainment. In the Westworld zone of the theme park, robots take on the character of the American Old West. Two young men Peter Martin (Richard Benjamin) and his friend John Blaine (James Brolin) visit Westworld to take on the main attraction, a duel-instigating robot called the Gunslinger (Yul Brynner). A series of small glitches with the robots culminates in a guest being killed and the park operators shutting down power to the park, essentially trapping all the humans while the robots run amok. Martin and Blaine, who have been passed out drunk at the western bar, awake to find the Gunslinger challenging them to a duel. The Gunslinger guns down Martin and Blaine runs for his life with the robot in pursuit. Blaine must survive the single-minded Gunslinger through the park while finding a way to escape and survive his vacation. |
